The 9 seat Mercede van (8 guests) was comfortable and spacious enough. Particularly enjoyed the stop at Amarante. I'm not much of a wine drinker but also enjoyed most of the many wines that were included at the various stops. All the other guests were super nice. Great day out and worth the expense.

But the best part was Julio and his vast... read more knowledge of Portuguese culture that he was absolutely enthusiastic to share and discuss with us. I learned more about Portuguese food, language, history, economics and politics than I ever would otherwise. He was a great history teacher and entertained all our questions with thoughtful and humorous answers. One of the highlights of our porto trip and portugal overall.

We lost an item and we were delayed getting to the tour and were going to cancel but they were very willing to help... read more us meet up with them a little later in the tour after we found our lost item. Pedro was super helpful at making sure that our group waited for us to meet them. Once we met up with the rest of the crew the tour went very smooth. Duoro valley is a magical spot and we were so happy we got a chance to spend the day with this team. We would recommend this to everyone!

   The wine tasting experience was fantastic! When we arrived with had a bunch of wines and glasses were all laid out for us. We had a great host - great... read more teacher, very friendly, full of life and passion for wine and teaching. He explained to us the different regions of wine in Portugal and the basics of different kinds of wine. We tried a bunch of whites, reds and even a port wine. All the wines were TOP quality so they were all really enjoyable to have. We learnt how to see the color, taste the wine, mostly it was a lot of laughing, talking and drinking.
 
 We chose this tasting because of the sommelier experience/status of the host and the fact that it showcased a variety of wines from all over Portugal, not just Douro, not just Port wine. This turned out to be a great decision. Strongly recommended, this is definitely an experience you should sign up for!!
